Pre-purchase inspection checklist

2005 Acura TL

VIN 19UUA66285A046401

Inspect these first — most-reported on this model

Structure (156 owner reports)Inspect for rust, fresh undercoating, mismatched paint, uneven panel gaps and any sign of prior collision or frame repair.
Air Bags (144 owner reports)Confirm the airbag light turns on then off at startup — if it stays lit there's a fault (costly, and a safety risk). Check for signs of prior deployment.
Power Train (36 owner reports)Drive through every gear: watch for slipping, hard or delayed shifts, and shudder. Check for transmission/driveline leaks and noises.
Electrical System (28 owner reports)Test every electrical feature: windows, locks, infotainment, charging and all lights. Watch for flickering, dead accessories or warning lights.
Steering (25 owner reports)Steering should be tight and centered — no play, clunks or wandering. Test at low and highway speed; listen for power-steering whine.
Tires (20 owner reports)Check tread depth, the DOT age date, and that all four tires match with even wear. Look for bulges or cracks.
