Pre-purchase inspection checklist

2012 Nissan Leaf SL

VIN JN1AZ0CP2CT018427

Inspect these first — most-reported on this model

Service Brakes (22 owner reports)Brakes should feel firm and quiet — no grinding, pulsing or pulling. Check for an ABS light and uneven pad/rotor wear.
Electrical System (15 owner reports)Test every electrical feature: windows, locks, infotainment, charging and all lights. Watch for flickering, dead accessories or warning lights.
Air Bags (11 owner reports)Confirm the airbag light turns on then off at startup — if it stays lit there's a fault (costly, and a safety risk). Check for signs of prior deployment.
Vehicle Speed Control (4 owner reports)Test cruise control and throttle response, and watch for any hesitation or unintended acceleration.
Visibility/wiper (3 owner reports)Have a trusted mechanic inspect this system as part of a pre-purchase inspection.
Seat Belts (3 owner reports)Check that every belt latches, retracts and locks under a sharp tug, and that none are frayed.
