Pre-purchase inspection checklist

2018 BMW I3 REX

VIN WBY7Z4C57JVD95562

Inspect these first — most-reported on this model

Fuel/propulsion System (3 owner reports)Check for fuel or battery warnings, hard starts and stalling. On a hybrid/EV, confirm charging and range behave normally.
Structure (3 owner reports)Inspect for rust, fresh undercoating, mismatched paint, uneven panel gaps and any sign of prior collision or frame repair.
Steering (3 owner reports)Steering should be tight and centered — no play, clunks or wandering. Test at low and highway speed; listen for power-steering whine.
Vehicle Speed Control (3 owner reports)Test cruise control and throttle response, and watch for any hesitation or unintended acceleration.
Air Bags (1 owner report)Confirm the airbag light turns on then off at startup — if it stays lit there's a fault (costly, and a safety risk). Check for signs of prior deployment.
Electrical System (1 owner report)Test every electrical feature: windows, locks, infotainment, charging and all lights. Watch for flickering, dead accessories or warning lights.
