About the Kia Sorento

The Kia Sorento is a series of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive family SUVs manufactured by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2002 through four generations. Initially a compact SUV built on a body-on-frame chassis, the second-generation Sorento transitioned to a larger car-based platform which placed it into the mid-size crossover SUV class, and has been developed alongside the Hyundai Santa Fe. It is presumed to be named after the Italian city of Sorrento, though Kia did not confirm this. However, Kia released the cryptic post teasing the launch of Sorento in India featuring the image of Piazza Tasso located in Sorrento, Italy.

Engine 284 reports

🔍 Listen for knocks or ticking, check for leaks and blue/white exhaust smoke, and make sure it doesn't overheat. No check-engine light should be on.

Structure 268 reports

🔍 Inspect for rust, fresh undercoating, mismatched paint, uneven panel gaps and any sign of prior collision or frame repair.

NHTSA lists 8 recall campaigns for the 2011 Kia Sorento model year. That covers the model year, not this individual car: to see whether a specific vehicle still needs a recall repair, check its VIN on NHTSA.gov or ask a franchised dealer. Recall repairs are free.

What is a fair price for a 2011 Kia Sorento?

Comparable 2011 Kia Sorento listings run roughly $8,000–$14,600, typically around $11,140 (from 528 comparable vehicles). The full report shows this exact VIN's valuation.

What is the 2011 Kia Sorento safety rating?

NHTSA gives the 2011 Kia Sorento an overall crash-test rating of 4 out of 5 stars (frontal 4★, side 4★, rollover 4★).

What fuel economy does the 2011 Kia Sorento get?

The 2011 Kia Sorento has U.S. EPA estimates of 20–24 mpg combined, depending on engine and trim (5 versions).
