Recall 00V039000

Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Volkswagen · reported 15 Feb 2000 · 11,400 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI VANS. THE CONNECTING ENDS OF THE FUEL FEED AND RETURN HOSES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAN "SETTLE" OVER TIME WHICH COULD CAUSE THE FASTENING CLAMPS TO LOSE THEIR TIGHT FIT AND PERMIT FUEL TO SEEP OUT AT THE HOSE CONNECTION.

The risk

FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL FEED AND RETURN HOSES.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
