Recall 00V088000
Power Train › Automatic Transmission › Park/neutral Start Interlock Switch — Ferrari · reported 27 Mar 2000 · 61 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ANTI-SHIFT LOCK ELECTROMAGNET MUST ENGAGE INTO A HOLE IN THE BALANCER IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE GEAR LEVER FROM MOVING OUT OF THE PARK POSITION UNLESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. IF THE BALANCER AND THE ELECTROMAGNET DO NOT LINE UP EXACTLY, THE ENGAGEMENT WILL NOT TAKE PLACE.
The risk
THE GEAR LEVER COULD BE MOVED FROM THE PARK POSITION WITH THE DRIVER DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE UNINTENDED MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE.
The fix
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW STYLE ANTI-SHIFT LOCK BALANCER.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
