Recall 00V194000 · manufacturer campaign 886

Vehicle Speed Control — Dodge, Plymouth · reported 17 Jul 2000 · 263,000 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS. VAPORS FROM THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) SYSTEM CAN CONDENSE AND FREEZE INSIDE OF THE THROTTLE BODY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN EXTREMELY COLD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES.

The risk

THIS CAN PREVENT THE THROTTLE FROM FULLY RETURNING TO IDLE, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE AND RELOCATE A PCV SYSTEM TUBE.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 21, 2000. Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
