Recall 00V290000
Electrical System › 12v/24v/48v Battery › Cables — Coachmen · reported 3 Oct 2000 · 88 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI-MOTOR HOMES, MODEL NUMBER 305. THE BATTERY CABLE THAT PROVIDES POWER FROM THE COACH BATTERY TO THE GENERATOR WAS ROUTED SO IT CROSSES OVER THE TOP OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD.
The risk
UNDER EXTREME TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS, THIS COULD CAUSE THE CABLE'S INSULATION TO MELT RESULTING IN A HIGH RESISTANCE SHORT THAT COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO A FIRE.
The fix
COACHMEN WILL INSPECT TO DETERMINE IF THE WIRES ARE PROPERLY ROUTED. IF NECESSARY, THE WIRES WILL BE RE-ROUTED.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
