What's wrong

ON CERTAIN CREW CAB TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES, THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINES FROM THE CHASSIS MOUNTED ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULATOR VALVE CAN BE DAMAGED BY INTERFERENCE WITH THE CAB MOUNTED AUXILIARY HEATER DUCT.

The risk

THIS COULD RESULT IN EXTENDED BRAKING DISTANCE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE LINES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON DECEMBER 26, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FREIGHTLINER AT 1-800-547-0712.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
