Recall 03V022000

Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer — Skyline · reported 24 Jan 2003 · 126 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN "SPORTWAGON" TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS, THE SCREWS USED TO ATTACH THE LIFT BED SUPPORT BRACKET TO THE WOOD BED FRAME ARE TOO SHORT.

The risk

THE BED CAN SEPARATE FROM THE SUPPORT BRACKET, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO OCCUPANTS IN THE BED OR UNDERNEATH THE BED.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSTALL THREE 3/8" CARRIAGE BOLTS PER SUPPORT BRACKET. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 3, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT SKYLINE AT 1-800-733-4250.

CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
