Recall 03V209000 · manufacturer campaign A207
Equipment › Other › Labels — Porsche · reported 4 Jun 2003 · 32 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
CERTAIN COUPE (TWO SEATER) PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING IS INCORRECT ON THE CERTIFICATION LABEL. THE LISTED GVWR IS 4,244 POUNDS AND THE CORRECT VALUE SHOULD BE 3,814 POUNDS.
The risk
OWNERS WOULD BE MISINFORMED OF THEIR VEHICLE'S ACTUAL GVWR.
The fix
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A CORRECTED CERTIFICATION LABEL. (THIS RECALL WILL BE CONDUCTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH PORSCHE'S PREVIOUS RECALL A303/03V-027 ON THE SAME VEHICLES FOR A FMVSS NO. 225 NONCOMPLIANCE). OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 28, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PORSCHE AT 1-800-767-7243.
PORSCHE RECALL NO. A207.CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
