Electrical System › 12v/24v/48v Battery › Cables — Holiday Rambler, Monaco Coach · reported 28 Jul 2003 · 135 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES, THE BATTERY CABLE THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE CIRCUIT BREAKER IS ROUTED TOO CLOSE TO THE FRAME OF THE COACH.

The risk

THIS COULD RESULT IN THE CABLE BECOMING WORN AND CREATING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE 12-VOLT SYSTEM THAT COULD DAMAGE THE BATTERY AND/OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.

The fix

DEALERS WILL ROTATE THE EYELET ON THE CIRCUIT BREAKER TO ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF THE CABLE RUBBING ON THE FRAME. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 22, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

MONACO RECALL NO. R03011.CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
