Recall 04V239000 · manufacturer campaign R02150
Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Water Heater — Holiday Rambler, Monaco Coach · reported 2 Jun 2004 · 15 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES, THE WATER HEATER WAS INSTALLED UNDER THE SLIDE-OUT, WHICH MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR FUMES TO ENTER THE COACH WHEN THE WATER HEATER IS LIT AND THE COACH IS PARKED WITH THE SLIDE-OUT EXTENDED.
The risk
THIS CAN CAUSE FUMES TO COME UP INSIDE THE COACH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.
The fix
DEALERS WILL RELOCATE THE WATER HEATER TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MOTOR HOME. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 30, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.
MONACO RECALL NO. R02150.CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
