Recall 05V076000 · manufacturer campaign 05-052
Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Furnace — Keystone · reported 8 Mar 2005 · 2,168 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS AND FIFTH WHEEL RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, DURING PRODUCTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FURNACE MAY NOT BE SECURED AND THE GASKET THAT SEALS THE FURNACE TO THE FLOOR DUCT SYSTEM MAY BE MISSING.
The risk
THE FURNACE COULD MOVE AWAY FROM THE OUTSIDE WALL AND DISCONNECT FROM THE EXHAUST OUTLET. IF THIS OCCURS, EXHAUST GASSES WILL ENTER THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE FURNACE IS OPERATING WHICH COULD LEAD TO INJURY OR DEATH FROM CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.
The fix
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND INSTALL THE FURNACE CORRECTLY, SECURING IT TO THE FLOOR AND ADDING THE MISSING GASKET FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 14, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE AT 1-866-425-4369.
KEYSTONE RECALL NO. 05-052.CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
