What's wrong

ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PISTON CUPS MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A DEFECT IN THE RUBBER SURFACE. RESIDUE MAY HAVE INVADED THE PISTON CUPS DURING THE MASTER CYLINDER MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THE RESIDUE COULD STICK TO THE CUPS AND CAUSE THEM TO CRACK DURING NORMAL BRAKING OPERATION.

The risk

A CRACK IN THE PISTON CUP COULD AFFECT THE TRUCK'S BRAKING ABILITY, AND CAUSE A CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A MODIFIED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 21, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MITSUBISHI FUSO AT 1-856-467-4500.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
