Recall 05V297000 · manufacturer campaign 05515

Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Foundation Components › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — International · reported 24 Jun 2005 · 60 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN 4X2 MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS, A LONGER FRONT HYDRAULIC BRAKE HOSE WAS SUBSTITUTED FOR THE SHORTER, CORRECT LENGTH HOSE.

The risk

THIS EXTRA LENGTH MAY CAUSE THE WHEEL TO RUB THROUGH THE BRAKE HOSE. A HOLE IN A BRAKE HOSE CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY THAT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES AND IF A BRAKE HOSE IS THE INCORRECT LENGTH, A NEW PROPER LENGTH HOSE WILL BE INSTALLED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 24, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
