Engine And Engine Cooling — Mitsubishi Fuso · reported 29 Jun 2005 · 15,307 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS, THE REAR ENGINE SUPPORT BRACKET IS COMPOSED OF MATERIALS OF INSUFFICIENT STRENGTH. NORMAL VEHICLE VIBRATIONS MAY CAUSE THE BRACKET TO CRACK.

The risk

IF THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUALLY OPERATED IN THIS CONDITION, THE BRACKET MAY BREAK APART, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO DROP OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITH THE DRIVE TRAIN.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A MODIFIED REAR ENGINE SUPPORT BRACKET. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI FUSO AT 1-856-467-4500.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
