Recall 05V361000 · manufacturer campaign 05-115

Suspension — Damon · reported 17 Aug 2005 · 61 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

SOME (PACIFIC/WALDORF EDITION) MOTOR HOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO.. 120 "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS." UNDER CERTAIN LOADING CONDITIONS, THE FRONT GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING (GAWR) COULD BE EXCEEDED.

The risk

UNDER CERTAIN LOADING CONDITIONS, THE FRONT AXLE COULD BECOME OVERLOADED INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH FRONT TIRES WITH A GREATER LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY, WHICH WILL INCREASE THE FRONT GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING. THE RECALL BEGAN AUGUST 29, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAMON AT 800-860-6362.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
