Recall 05V497000 · manufacturer campaign 2084
Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Fuel Pump — Suzuki · reported 1 Nov 2005 · 769 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN SCOOTERS, THE FUEL PUMP RETAINING RING MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY INSTALLED RESULTING IN IMPROPER SEATING OF THE FUEL PUMP RETAINING RING ON THE FUEL TANK DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF THE THREADS.
The risk
IF THE FUEL PUMP RETAINING RING IS NOT PROPERLY SEATED ON THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL PUMP RETAINING RING COULD BE DEFORMED DURING NORMAL EXPANSION OF THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK, RESULTING IN INSUFFICIENT SEALING PERFORMANCE AND FUEL LEAKAGE. THIS COULD PRESENT A FIRE SAFETY HAZARD AND RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP RETAINING RING. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 3, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 714-572-1490.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
