Recall 06V032000 · manufacturer campaign 60123
Equipment › Other › Labels — Fleetwood · reported 8 Feb 2006 · 42 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION TAG MAY BE PRINTED WITH THE INCORRECT GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR) WEIGHT VALUE OF 31,000 POUNDS. THE CORRECT GVWR WEIGHT VALUE IS 28,000 POUNDS. THE SAME WEIGHT ERROR MAY OCCUR ON THE CARGO CARRYING CAPACITY TAG.
The risk
OVERLOADING COULD DAMAGE THE VEHICLE, ADVERSELY AFFECTING VEHICLE PERFORMANCE INCLUDING HANDLING AND BRAKING, CAUSE TIRE FAILURE, AND RESULT IN A CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL SEND REPLACEMENT LABELS ALONG WITH INSTRUCTIONS. IF NECESSARY, DEALERS WILL CHANGE CERTAIN FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND CERTIFY THE CHASSIS FOR THE 31,000 POUNDS GVWR WEIGHT VALUE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 27, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FLEETWOOD AT 800-509-3418.
FLEETWOOD RECALL NO. 60123.CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
