Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines And Fittings — Keystone · reported 29 Mar 2006 · 18 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS, PROPANE LINES WERE INCORRECTLY POSITIONED DURING MANUFACTURING AND DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE FLOOR OF THE SLIDE ROOM AND THE OUTSIDE WALL OF THE SLIDE ROOM.

The risk

THE COPPER LINES MAY GET PINCHED WHEN THE DOOR SIDE SLIDE-OUT IS RETRACTED. THE LINES COULD BE DAMAGED AND LEAK PROPANE RESULTING IN A FIRE.

The fix

DEALERS WILL RELOCATE THE LINES AND A STOP WILL BE ADDED TO PREVENT THE LINES FROM BEING DAMAGED IN THE FUTURE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 27, 2006. ALL VEHICLES ARE LOCATED AT DEALERSHIPS AND HAVE NOT BEEN SOLD TO CONSUMERS.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
