Recall 06V373000

Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Fuel Pump — Ducati · reported 28 Sep 2006 · 402 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL PUMP AND IGNITION RELAYS INSTALLED DURING PRODUCTION COULD BE DEFECTIVE. THIS CAN CAUSE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO STOP FUNCTIONING AND THE ENGINE TO STOP.

The risk

IF THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE THE MOTORCYCLE WAS BEING DRIVEN, IT COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND IGNTION RELAYS. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DUCATI AT 1-408-253-0499.

CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
