What's wrong
ON CERTAIN LOW CAB FORWARD CHASSIS TRUCKS, THE UNSEALED INJECTION PRESSURE REGULATOR CONNECTOR IS EXPOSED TO THE OUTSIDE ENVIRONMENT DUE TO ITS LOCATION ON THE BACK OF THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE'S LOCATION IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONNECTOR HAS A HEAT INSULATION SLEEVE THAT MAY RETAIN WATER AROUND THE CONNECTOR.
The risk
OVER TIME, THE COLLECTED WATER MAY POTENTIALLY CORRODE THE CONNECTOR LEADS RESULTING IN VARIOUS ENGINE PERFORMANCE CONCERNS INCLUDING; RUNNING ROUGH, DIFFICULT OR UNABLE TO BE STARTED, OR ENGINE STALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE INJECTION PRESSURE REGULATOR CONNECTOR, INSPECT FOR CORROSION, AND REPLACE THE HEAT INSULATION. IF CORROSION IS PRESENT, THE CONNECTOR WILL BE REPLACED. IF CORROSION IS NOT PRESENT, DIELECTRIC GREASE WILL BE APPLIED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 13, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
