Recall 07V058000
Service Brakes, Air — Stoughton · reported 16 Feb 2007 · 1,472 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN TRAILERS, DURING MANUFACTURE, SOME OF THE PIPE FITTINGS WERE DRILLED TOO DEEP, RESULTING IN A THIN WALL IN THE MALE PIPE THREAD. THE MALE PIPE THREAD MAY BREAK OFF DURING OR AFTER ASSEMBLY.
The risk
IF THE FITTING FAILS WHILE IN USE, THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM COULD DEPRESSURIZE, CAUSING THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE SUDDENLY, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
The fix
STOUGHTON IS WORKING WITH BRASSCRAFT TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE FITTING FREE OF CHARGE (PLEASE SEE 06E082). THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 20, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BRASSCRAFT AT 248-305-6000 OR STOUGHTON TRAILER AT 1-608-873-2565.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
