Recall 07V098000 · manufacturer campaign SC0321
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Pedals And Linkages — Mack · reported 14 Mar 2007 · 3,587 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE COTTER PIN THAT RETAINS THE BRAKE PEDAL CLEVIS PIN MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. THE CLEVIS PIN CONNECTS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE BRAKE FOOT VALVE.
The risk
IF THE PIN WERE TO COME LOOSE, THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY THE SERVICE BRAKE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO SEE IF THE COTTER PIN IS MISSING. IF THE PIN IS MISSING, THE COTTER PIN WILL BE INSTALLED. OWNERS ARE BEING ADVISED NOT THE DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PIN HAS BEEN INSTALLED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 26, 2007. OWNER MAY CONTACT MACK TRUCK AT 1-800-528-6586.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
