Seats — Us Bus · reported 13 Apr 2007 · 106 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
CERTAIN U.S. BUS STURDIBUS, STURDIVAN, AND UNIVERSE SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN MAY 1, 2000, AND MAY 2, 2006. IN A CRASH, THE WALL AND FLOOR MOUNTING BOLTS CAN PULL THROUGH THE SUPPORTING STEEL WHICH FAILS TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES. ALSO THE SEATS IN THESE BUSES DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE SEAT SPACING REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 222, SCHOOL BUS PASSENGER SEATING AND CRASH PROTECTION.
The risk
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE MOUNTING BOLTS COULD FAIL TO RETAIN THE SEAT, ALLOWING THE PASSENGER TO BE THROWN FORWARD, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURIES.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
