Recall 07V231000
Seat Belts — Ottawa · reported 8 Jun 2007 · 59 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
CERTAIN 4X2 AND 6X4 TERMINAL TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH SEAT ANCHORAGE SYSTEM TETHERS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES." THE TETHER THAT ANCHORS THE SEAT AT THE SEAT BELT ATTACHMENT POINT TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAB HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY OUR SUPPLIER TO HAVE NOT MET THE PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS NORMALLY PROVIDED ON THE ADJUSTER MECHANISM.
The risk
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH AND THE TETHER IS NOT ADJUSTED CORRECTLY, THE SEAT AND SEAT BELT MAY NOT BE SECURED ALLOWING THE PASSENGER TO BE THROWN FORWARD, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURIES.
The fix
DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE NEW TETHER STRAP FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KALMAR-OTTAWA AT 785-229-6327.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
