What's wrong

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE LOWER FORK YOKE COULD FAIL. A CRACK CAN FORM AROUND THE LOWER FORK BEARING.

The risk

IF THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN UNDER SUCH A CONDITION, AND THE CRACK COMPROMISES THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION, THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The fix

DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE LOWER FORK COMPONENT IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PIAGGIO/MOTO GUZZI AT 1-212-380-4400.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
