Recall 07V265000
Engine And Engine Cooling — Gillig · reported 8 Jun 2007 · 2 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN TRANSIT BUSES BUILT WITH CUMMINS ISM C876 ENGINES, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE FAILS TO RECOGNIZE INPUTS OF THE VEHICLE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT OR FROM A DRIVER ACTUATED DASH SWITCH THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF UNINTENDED (OR UNEXPECTED) ELEVATED EXHAUST TEMPERATURES.
The risk
WHILE THIS CONDITION DOES NOT INVOLVE A RISK OF FIRE IN THE VEHICLE ITSELF, IT COULD PRESENT A FIRE HAZARD IN A SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE'S EXHAUST IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO MATERIALS OR SUBSTANCES THAT CAN MELT, BURN, OR EXPLODE.
The fix
CUMMINS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH GILLIG, WILL CONDUCT THE REMEDY CAMPAIGN. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 31, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT CUMMINS AT 1-800-343-7357 OR GILLIG AT 1-510-785-1500.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
