Recall 07V271000

Wheels › Rim — Komfort · reported 13 Jun 2007 · 29 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECTLY SIZED WHEELS. THE INCORRECT WIDER RIM DOES NOT ALLOW PROPER CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SHOCK ABSORBER, SHOCK BRACKETS, AND THE TIRE.

The risk

THIS REDUCED CLEARANCE MAY CAUSE THE TIRE TO RUB ON THE CHASSIS RESULTING IN TIRE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The fix

KOMFORT WILL REPLACE THE WHEELS AND TIRES OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 3, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KOMFORT AT 1-503 722-5199.

CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
