Suspension › Rear — Fleetwood · reported 16 Jul 2007 · 56 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

ON CERTAIN CLASS C MOTOR HOMES, THE FRONT AXLE WEIGHT, IN AN UNLOADED CONDITION, MAY EXCEED THE FRONT GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING (GAWR) OF 4600 POUNDS.

The risk

OVERLOADING OR EXCEEDING THE FRONT GAWR MAY CREATE AXLE FATIGUE OR FAILURE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND/OR A CRASH.

The fix

FLEETWOOD HAS INSTALLED A HEAVIER NEW REAR BUMPER TO REDISTRIBUTE WEIGHT FROM THE FRONT AXLE TO THE REAR AXLE ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. FLEETWOOD ALSO CORRECTED AND REPLACED THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION TAG AND THE CARGO CARRYING CAPACITY TAG. ALL VEHICLES WILL BE REPAIRED BEFORE SELLING.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
