Recall 07V445000
Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer — Itasca, Winnebago · reported 21 Sep 2007 · 65 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH WITH A 3.2 QD CUMMINS ONAN GENERATOR, THE GENERATOR'S INTERNAL CONTROLLER MAY FAIL; HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS WOULD REMAIN ENERGIZED. INCLUDED IN THESE CIRCUITS IS THE ELECTRONIC PREHEATED ELEMENT WHICH AIDS COLD STARTS AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES BELOW 0 DEGREES CELSIUS. IN NORMAL OPERATION, THIS CIRCUIT IS ENERGIZED NO LONGER THAN 120 SECONDS AT 30 CELSIUS. IF THE CIRCUIT REMAINS ENERGIZED BEYOND THE DESIGNED PERIOD, THE PREHEATED ELEMENT CAN OVER HEAT.
The risk
IF THE ELEMENT OVER HEATS, A FIRE IN THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM COULD OCCUR.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
