What's wrong

ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE ADVANCED PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WEIGHT SENSOR SYSTEM. A MALFUNCTION CAN OCCUR IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) SOFTWARE WHEN THE BATTERY IS NOT FULLY CHARGED.

The risk

IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND PASSENGER SEATBELT PRE-TENSIONER MAY NOT DEPLOY INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES.

The fix

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SRS ECU UNITS AS NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. ALL VEHICLES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED.
