What's wrong
MITSUBISHI FUSO IS RECALLING 2,957 MY 2008 FE83D, FE84D, FE85D, AND FG84D TRUCKS. THE BOLT HOLES IN THE TURBOCHARGER BRACKET, WHERE THE TURBOCHARGER IS AFFIXED, WERE MANUFACTURED WITH INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE. STRESS IS PLACED ON THE MOUNTING BOSS WHEN THE BRACKET IS AFFIXED TO THE TURBOCHARGER, DUE TO INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE AFFIXING BOLTS AND BRACKET HOLES.
The risk
IN THIS CONDITION, EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION OF THE TURBOCHARGER HOUSING MOUNTING BOSS DURING NORMAL ENGINE OPERATION MAY CAUSE THERMAL FATIGUE OF THE TURBOCHARGER HOUSING. THE TURBOCHARGER HOUSING MAY CRACK, RELEASING EXHAUST GASES THAT COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRACKET. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 10, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MITSUBISHI FUSO AT 1-856-467-4500.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
