What's wrong
DAIMLER TRUCKS RECALLED 1 MY 2009 FREIGHTLINER CUSTOM CHASSIS X-LINE MOTOR HOME CHASSIS EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX FRONT AIR DISC BRAKES. THE FRONT AIR DISC BRAKES MAY HAVE BEEN CONTAMINATED WITH GREASE BETWEEN THE PISTON HEAD/PLATE AND THE DIAPHRAGM. WHEN BRAKING PRESSURE IS APPLIED, THE GREASE MAY ALLOW THE PISTON HEAD/PLATE TO SLIP OFF CENTER AND CATCH ON THE REDUCING RING OF THE SERVICE CHAMBER.
The risk
THE CATCHING OF THE PISTON HEAD/PLATE ON THE REDUCING RING MAY LOCK UP THE CORRESPONDING FRONT AIR DISC BRAKE WHICH MAY IMPACT THE OPERATOR'S ABILITY TO STEER OR CONTROL THE VEHICLE.
The fix
DEALERS REPLACED BOTH FRONT AIR DISC BRAKES SERVICE CHAMBERS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2008. NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED ON THIS RECALL.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
