What's wrong
LEISURE TRAVEL VANS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008 FREE SPIRIT TRAVEL VANS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN MAY 2007 AND DECEMBER 2008. THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER AND SPARE TIRE COVER OBSTRUCT THE VISIBILITY OF THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TAIL LAMP, TURN SIGNAL, AND STOP LAMP. THESE VANS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."
The risk
AN OBSTRUCTED TAIL LAMP, TURN SIGNAL, AND/OR STOP LAMP WOULD DECREASE VISIBILITY OF THE VEHICLE AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
