Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Furnace — Itasca, Winnebago · reported 1 Sep 2009 · 469 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
WINNEBAGO IS RECALLING MODEL YEAR 2007-2008 ACCESS, ASPECT, SIGHTEER AND VISTA, MODEL YEAR 2007-2008 ITASCA IMPULSE, CAMBRIA, SUNOVA, AND SUNSTAR, MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 WINNEBAGO ACCESS, SIGHTSEER AND VISTA, MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 ITASCA IMPULSE, SUNOVA, AND SUNSTAR MOTOR HOMES. THESE MOTOR HOMES MAY HAVE A MISSING STOVE PARTITION THAT ISOLATES THE FURNACE AIR.
The risk
IF THE FURNACE IS OPERATED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE STOVE AND PARTITION IS MISSING, THE STOVE FLAME MAY GO OUT AND THE PROPANE GAS WILL CONTINUE TO FLOW, WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL TO IGNITE RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR VEHICLE AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.
The fix
DEALERS WILL CORRECT THIS SITUATION BY INSTALLING A STOVE PARTITION THAT ISOLATES THE STOVE FROM THE FURNACE RETURN AIR AT NO CHARGE TO THE OWNER. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-800-537-1885.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
