Recall 09V452000 · manufacturer campaign FL-566
Equipment — Sterling · reported 24 Nov 2009 · 2,333 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
DAIMLER TRUCKS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007 THROUGH 2009 STERLING 360 VEHICLES. THE WEATHER RESISTANCE PROPERTIES OF THE AIR INTAKE DUCT RUBBER CUSHIONS IS INSUFFICIENT. DURING NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION, THE RUBBER CUSHIONS DETERIORATE AND CRACK.
The risk
ALL OF THE RUBBER CUSHIONS COULD CRACK, ALLOWING THE AIR INTAKE DUCT TO FALL OFF OF THE TRUCK INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE ALL OF THE AIR INTAKE DUCT RUBBER CUSHIONS WITH COMPONENTS MANUFACTURED TO PROPER SPECIFICATIONS. THIS REMEDY WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT MARCH 15, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLER TRUCKS AT 1-800-547-0712.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
