What's wrong
KENWORTH IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 T2000, T660, T800 AND W900 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JULY 30, 2009 AND SEPTEMBER 18, 2009. THE REAR AXLE OUTER END HUB MAY HAVE NOT BEEN PRIMED WITH OIL PROPERLY DURING THE REAR AXLE INSTALLATION PROCESS. POTENTIAL LACK OF OIL MAY CAUSE THE OUTER END BEARING TO HEAT UP AND/OR SEIZE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN THE OVERHEATING OF THE WHEEL END.
The risk
A WHEEL END FIRE MAY OCCUR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BEARINGS, SEALS AND WILL ADD OIL TO THE OUTER END HUB AS WELL AS INSPECT RACES AND AXLE HOUSING FOR DAMAGE AND REPLACING AS NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 24, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KENWORTH AT 425-828-5440.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
