Recall 10V333000 · manufacturer campaign 2010-01
Seats — Roadtrek · reported 22 Jul 2010 · 644 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ROADTREK IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008 THROUGH 2010 ROADTREK 17PC, 17VC, 19PC, 19VC, 21PC, AND 21VC MODEL CLASS "B" MOTORHOMES BUILT ON GM EXPRESS VAN CHASSIS FROM JANUARY 1, 2008 THROUGH JANUARY 1, 2010. ON SOME MOTORHOMES, THE LUMBAR SUPPORT WIRE HARNESS WHICH IS BETWEEN THE SWITCH AND THE LUMBAR MOTOR MAY HAVE INSULATION THAT IS NOT RATED AGAINST RISK OF FIRE AS PER SPECIFICATION.
The risk
IF THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE 12V WIRE HARNESS, THE INSULATION COULD THEN MELT OR BURN CREATING A SOURCE OF IGNITION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
The fix
ROADTREK WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WIRE HARNESS IN BOTH THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEATS AS REQUIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 3, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ROADTREK SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 1-888-ROADTREK (762-3873) OR 1-519-745-1169.
OWNERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV .
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
