Recall 10V445000

Equipment — Nu Wa · reported 23 Sep 2010 · 1 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

NU WA IS RECALLING ONE MODEL YEAR 2010 DISCOVERY SERIES MOTOR HOME EQUIPPED WITH SUBURBAN GAS COOK STOVES WITH SEALED BURNERS. THE UNITS INVOLVED USE AN ALUMINUM TUBE TO CARRY LIQUID PROPANE GAS FROM THE OVEN CONTROL VALVE TO THE GAS ORIFICE WHICH SUPPLIES GAS TO THE BURNER. THIS CAN CAUSE THE TUBE TO BREAK RESULTING IN A GAS LEAK WHEN THE OVEN BURNER ATTEMPTS TO LIGHT.

The risk

A GAS LEAK OCCURRING IN THE AREA OF THE OVEN PILOT CAN CAUSE A "FLASH" WHEN THE GAS IGNITES, AND WOULD CAUSE A FIRE IF THE OVEN VALVE IS NOT PROMPTLY TURNED OFF.

The fix

ONE VEHICLE IS AFFECTED FOR THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN AND IN NU WA'S POSSESSION THEREFORE, OWNER NOTIFICATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION NU WA CAN BE REACHED AT 1-620-431-2088.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
