Recall 10V451000 · manufacturer campaign 99-01-04
Suspension — Heartland · reported 24 Sep 2010 · 161 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
HEARTLAND IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 CALIBER TRAVEL TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 21, 2010, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 15, 2010. THESE VEHICLES HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR THE SUSPENSION TO CONTACT THE LIQUID PROPANE (LP) PIPE UNDER TRAILER. THIS CONTACT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LP PIPE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A GAS LEAK.
The risk
A GAS LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD CAUSE A FIRE WHICH COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
The fix
DEALERS WILL MOVE THE LP PIPE AWAY FROM THE SUSPENSION TO PREVENT CONTACT AND REPLACE ANY DAMAGED PIPE. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 8, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WARRANTY/SERVICE DEPARTMENT BY EMAIL AT [email protected], OR BY PHONE AT 877-262-8032.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
