Recall 10V558000

Exterior Lighting — Jayco · reported 8 Nov 2010 · 44 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 JAYCO MODEL JAY FEATHER SELECT TRAVEL TRAILERS SERIES 29L MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 11, 2010, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 10, 2010, ARE MISSING THE INTERMEDIATE SIDE MARKER LIGHT. IF THE SIDE MARKER IS MISSING, VEHICLES OVER 30 FEET IN OVERALL LENGTH DO NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."

The risk

A MISSING REQUIRED ITEM OF VEHICLE LIGHTING EQUIPMENT MAY REDUCE THE VEHICLE'S VISIBILITY TO OTHER DRIVERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.

The fix

JAYCO WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND INSTALL THE MISSING SIDE MARKER LIGHT FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALLBEGAN ON DECEMBER 9, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
