Recall 11V039000
Electrical System › Wiring — Fairplay · reported 31 Jan 2011 · 1,621 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
FAIRPLAY IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 AND 2011 EVE LSV ELECTRIC LOW SPEED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 31, 2009, THROUGH DECEMBER 27, 2010. A FUSE SPECIFIED TO BE IN THE 12V ACCESSORY CIRCUIT WAS NOT BUILT INTO THE WIRING HARNESS. THE FUSE VALUE ON THE INPUT TO THE VOLTAGE REDUCER WAS TOO LARGE TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE. THERE WAS NO FUSE INSERTED IN THE 12 VOLT CIRCUIT.
The risk
WITHOUT THIS FUSE FOR PROTECTION, A SHORT IN ANY PORTION OF THE 12V WIRING CAN MELT WIRE INSULATION AND POSE THE RISK OF A FIRE.
The fix
FAIRPLAY WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 22, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FAIRPLAY AT 1-866-557-0342.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
