Equipment › Mechanical › Integrated Jack/leveler/stabilizer — Starcraft · reported 21 Apr 2011 · 135 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
STARCRAFT IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 AUTUMN RIDGE AR-ONE, AUTUMN RIDGE AND LEXION S-LITE TRAVEL TRAILERS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 29, 2010, AND JANUARY 27, 2011. THESE TRAILERS MAY HAVE CRACKED BOLTS ATTACHING THE LEVELING JACKS TO THE TRAILER FRAME. IF ALL OF THE BOLTS BREAK, IT COULD RESULT IN THE JACK COMING LOOSE FROM THE FRAME.
The risk
IF THE JACK COMES LOOSE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION A CRASH, INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT.
The fix
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FASTENERS ATTACHING THE LEVELING JACKS TO THE FRAME WITH MORE ROBUST FASTENERS. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING MAY 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT STARCRAFT AT 1-800-945-4787.
OWNERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV .
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
