What's wrong
JAYCO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 JAY FLIGHT BUNGALOW TRAVEL TRAILERS, MANUFACTURED FROM MARCH 19, 2012, THROUGH MARCH 27, 2012. THE LOAD RANGE AND THE COLD TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE ON THESE TRAILERS ARE INCORRECTLY IDENTIFIED. THUS, THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 120, TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS.
The risk
RELYING ON THE A MISPRINTED LABEL COULD LEAD TO IMPROPER VEHICLE LOADING SPECIFICATIONS OR TIRE INFLATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A TIRE FAILURE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
JAYCO WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REPLACE THE LABELS WITH A CORRECT LABEL. THE RECALL WILL BEGIN IN MAY 2012. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT JAYCO AT 574-825-0608.
CUSTOMERS MAY CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
