What's wrong
FOREST RIVER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012-2013 SHASTA REVERE RECREATIONAL VEHICLES. THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR) AND CARGO CARRYING CAPACITY SPECIFICATION IS INCORRECT ON THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION LABEL AND THE TIRE INFORMATION LABEL. THUS, THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, CERTIFICATION.
The risk
INCORRECT WEIGHT INFORMATION MAY LEAD TO OVERLOADING, WHICH MAY CAUSE AXLE OR TIRE FAILURE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
FOREST RIVER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND INCLUDE THE CORRECTED LABELS IN EACH LETTER. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 28, 2012. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FOREST RIVER AT 574-825-7178.
