Recall 12V283000 · manufacturer campaign 12519

Visibility › Glass, Side/rear — International · reported 20 Jun 2012 · 1,298 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2013 INTERNATIONAL DURASTAR TRUCKS, MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 12, 2012, THROUGH MARCH 19, 2012, EQUIPPED WITH CAB CODES 16030 OR 16AAK. THE WINDSHIELD AND BACKLIGHT GLASS ON THESE VEHICLES WERE INSTALLED WITHOUT PRIMER SEAL APPLICATION. OVER TIME, THIS MAY CAUSE SEPARATION FROM THE CAB.

The risk

WITHOUT THE PROPER BOND, THE WINDSHIELD AND/OR BACKLIGHT GLASS COULD SEPARATE FROM THE CAB, RESULTING IN INCREASED RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

The fix

NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD AND BACKLIGHT GLASS ON AFFECTED VEHICLES, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 18, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-800-448-7825.

NAVISTAR'S CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 12519. CUSTOMERS MAY CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

2013 International Durastar

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
