Recall 12V333000 · manufacturer campaign 12KWE

Equipment › Other › Labels — Kenworth · reported 16 Jul 2012 · 21 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Paccar is recalling certain model year 2013 Kenworth T680 vehicles, manufactured from January 19, 2012, through May 15, 2012. The warning label located on the front of the upper bunk may deform after installation, making the text unreadable.

The risk

If the warning label is not readable, the occupant may be unaware of the safety recommendations and be at an increased risk of personal injury in a crash or sudden vehicle deceleration.

The fix

Paccar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the warning label in the affected vehicles. The safety recall began on August 20, 2012. Owners may contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5440.

Kenworth's recall number is 12KWE. Owners may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); or go to http://www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
