Recall 12V379000 · manufacturer campaign IK00-1732

Equipment — Vermeer · reported 6 Aug 2012 · 40 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2012 BC1200XL brush chipper trailers because the lug nuts may not have been properly torqued. As a result, the lug nuts could loosen and the wheels could separate from the bush chipper.

The risk

If the wheels separate from the brush chipper, there is an increased risk of personal injury, property damage or a crash.

The fix

Vermeer will notify owners, and dealers will properly torque the lug nuts, free of charge. The recall began on August 21, 2012. Owners may contact Vermeer at 1-641-628-3141.

Vermeer's recall number is IK00-1732.Customers may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); or go to http://www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
